Privacy Policy
Effective date: March 2026
Introduction
Luminary is a journal app for parents. This policy explains how the app handles your data.
Data Collection
Luminary does not collect personal data. All content you create (audio recordings, photos, videos, text entries, milestones) is stored locally on your device. We have no access to your content.
iCloud Backup
If you enable iCloud backup, your data is synced via Apple's iCloud service. This is governed by Apple's privacy policy. Luminary has no access to your iCloud data.
AI Features
AI-powered year summaries use Apple's on-device intelligence (FoundationModels framework). All processing happens locally on your device. No journal entries or personal data are sent to external servers for AI processing.
Analytics & Tracking
Luminary does not use analytics, tracking, or third-party SDKs.
Children's Privacy
Luminary is designed for use by parents, not children. The app does not knowingly collect information from children. All content is created and controlled by the parent.
Data Retention & Deletion
Your data exists only on your device (and in iCloud if you enabled backup). To delete your data, remove it within the app or delete the app. We cannot delete your data because we never have access to it.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this policy, the revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
